Olive & Vine is an elegant little cafe/catering business in Glen Ellen (is it possible to be sophisticated and down-home at the same time?) usually only open during the day, but they have recently started serving gourmet fare (at VERY reasonable prices) on Friday evenings - with music. I have stopped by a few Fridays to eat and listen, and I'd be there every night if they were open. It's a very magical place - and the food is exceptional (and did I mention VERY reasonable prices?).

I LOVE playing at Murphy's - an authentic and comfortable pub just off Sonoma's historic Plaza. Murphy's creates the feeling and hospitality of a true
Irish pub; original owners Larry and Rose Murphy found inspiration for their pub during frequent visits to Ireland (They recently sold to old friends of theirs who are keeping their traditions alive, and they still drop in, just not as often). People travel miles for their Fish & Chips, Corned Beef Sandwich, Shepherd's Pie, Steak, Hamburger, BBQ Ribs, plus salads and other specialties. The whole family - kids included - is welcome at Murphy's. There is outdoor seating; the patio is heated when the nights are cool.

John & Kathy Bingham have made something wonderful happen here overlooking the Siletz River in this picturesque Oregon Coast backwater. Upstairs is a world-class restaurant, and downstairs an elegant yet rustic bar where locals and visitors from all over the world congregate, and where I'll be performing solo and sometimes backed by owner John himself on bass. If you come for dinner (like I recommend), you'd probably better have reservations if you want to eat upstairs in the dining room. You might be able to get away without them downstairs where I'll be playing, but it gets pretty crowded sometimes, and my crowds there are growing.

Last year on September 16, I celebrated my 25th Sobriety Birthday in combination with a housewarming of my then-new little house in the Boyes Hot Springs area of Sonoma. Since I am just now moving into another house in the El Verano area of Sonoma, I get to do the same dang thing again. Except this time I've got an acre to play on!
Once again there will be two outdoor dance floors, really great Cajun/Zydeco/Country music, tons of good food, and everybody's invited!
