II love performing at Murphy's. Original owners Larry and Rose Murphy recreated the feeling, hospitality, and ambience of a local village pub in Ireland. That tradition is carried on by current proprietors Bill Pollock and Bob Smith. Murphy's is a hub of friendly activity on any given Sonoma evening, with live music, great pub food and entrees, and a complete selection of adult beverages. There is outdoor seating which is populated even on winter nights with outdoor heaters warming the air. Pubs are family places and children are welcome.

NEW YEAR'S EVE BASH!!! (and Joe's Birthday!)
Hi All!
I'm just back from a month in Europe and six weeks of resting my vocal cords. I'm sending this email to invite you to a couple of upcoming gigs. On Wednesday, December 31st, I'll be swinging in the New Year with 60's Icon Country Joe McDonald (The Country Joe & The Fish album pictured above was my introduction to Joe's music. It was all I listened to in 1967 in my freshman - and last - year at Portland State College. On my recent journey, wherever I went in Europe, I'd drop Joe's name - that's what we do in the music biz - and EVERYBODY knows who he is... Being one of the most memorable acts in the movie Woodstock doesn't hurt. The photo on the right is Joe and me from the Berkeley World Music Fest a couple of years ago.). Joe has invited me and my band - along with other talent - to join him at his Berkeley venue, COUNTRY JOE'S CAFE, for a rockin' country New Years Eve event. Here's the announcement from Joe's website:
"Ring in the New Year at Café de la Paz with Country Joe McDonald and friends! Admission of just $55 includes a delicious Café buffet dinner, performances by Country Joe McDonald, Pete Olson and the Pete Olson (dance) Band, Annie and The Vets, and Berkeley poet Kirk Lumpkin, culminating in a toast to the change that has come as we welcome in a hopeful new year with a countdown to midnight complete with complimentary champagne, and the traditional noisemakers, funny hats, etc."
The years have only made Joe more worth listening to. This is a great opportunity to hear a living rock legend in an intimate setting, plus enjoy an excellent meal from one of the great restaurants in Berkeley's Gourmet Ghetto AND to dance your posterior off to that modern living legend in his own mind: ME!! The fellas and I will be brewing up a tasty mix of traditional country tunes and old-time rock and roll, and I might even be persuaded to warble a few of my own original heart-wrenching love songs.
